MOISSANITE

Moissanite comes in a variety of shapes and sizes. Select the shape of stone you are interested in and be transported to wonderment

A straight-edged rectangular or square stone with cut corners. Radiant principally used for important center stones primarily for rings but also for pendants.

The pear cut is based upon the traditional configuration of the round brilliant diamond. It is lovely as the center stone in a ring or outstanding as a pendant or pair of drop earrings.

Marquise Cust takes its name from a legend relating to the Marquise of Pompadour. According to the legend, the Sun King desired a stone to be polished into the shape of the mouth of the Marquise

The traditional Choice for all occasions. The most popular diamond shape is the round brilliant, which is also the most standardized cut.

The cushion is not as fiery or brilliant as many of the newer cuts, but it has a marvelously romantic and calssic look and definitely stands out from the crowd of round brilliants.

The fire and beauty of these custs is spectacular, they are wonderful cuts...Trillions are basically triangular in shape.

The perfect stone for special occasions. The heart shape is one of those special cuts that follow more human and emotional values.

Essentially is is a square version of a round brilliant. Its invention is credited to M. Weistreich, a Belgian diamond cutter.

The oval cut is based upon the traditional configuration of the round brilliant diamond.

Rectangular or oblong cuts are usually called baguettes, from the French word "baguette". They are similar to emerald cuts, but without the mitred corners which make them octagonal rather than oblong.

Is Moissanite a "simulated" diamond or a diamond substitute?

The answer is a resounding NO - Moissanite is not a substitute for diamond scientifically or emotionally.

Charles & Colvard created Moissanite is a unique near-colorless jewel that stands on its own when it comes to superb fire and brilliance. From a scientific standpoint, the Moissanite used in jewelry today is a created jewel that was originally discovered in its natural state in the Canyon Diablo meteor crater located in Arizona.

Moissanite is an entirely new option in affordable luxury, offering value, quality and fashion without the emotional heft of diamond.

Properly cut by master cutters, the comparison to fine diamond is unavoidable. Moissanite has measurably more fire, brilliance and luster at a fraction of the cost of diamond. These faceted jewels now offer you a variety of choices and they are available in near colorless to very slightly tinted.  You can purchase moisanite in the most popular shapes -- such as round, oval, marquise, pear, radiant cut octagon, heart, triangle, trillion, square brilliant princess, and antique squares.

The optical properties of diamond produce its brillance, luster and fire. By virtue of its mineral structure, moissanite produces more sparkle than diamond and generally out performs diamond on all counts.

As quoted from world renown expert Allan Hodgkinson, F.G.A. D.G.A and author of the Rapport Diamond Report Article on Moissanite dated December 4, 1998.
